In the past five years, the college has obtained a total of 271 research projects at various levels and types, including 30 projects funded by the National Social Science Fund (among which there are 2 major bidding projects and 3 key projects) and 41 provincial and ministerial-level projects. It has published 69 academic monographs, with 55 published by first-tier publishers. It has published 165 academic papers, including 3 papers in top Chinese journals (all in "Social Sciences in China"), 16 papers in authoritative Chinese journals, 70 papers in first-tier core journals, 56 papers in core journals, and 20 papers in other journals. It has received 1 award for outstanding achievements in scientific research from higher education institutions (in the field of humanities and social sciences), 6 awards for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences from Zhejiang Province, and 17 awards for outstanding achievements at the municipal and departmental level (including 4 first prizes), as well as 1 first prize for outstanding achievements at the municipal bureau level. The college has 1 key research base for philosophy and social sciences in Zhejiang Province (Zhedong Culture Research Institute), 1 cultural engineering research base in Ningbo City (Zhedong Historical Culture Research Base), and 8 research institutions at Ningbo University (Zhedong Culture Research Institute, Modern Communication Research Institute, Chinese Classical Studies Research Institute, Ningbo Bang Research Center, Dialect and Culture Research Center, Public History Research Center, Modern Poetics Research Center, Buddhist Culture Research Center).
