Liu Hengwu is a professor at the School of Humanities and Communication, Ningbo University, and also serves as the Vice director of the Ningbo Cultural Research Association and a fellow of the Zhejiang Historical Society. His main research areas are the history of the Maritime Silk Road and regional archaeology. He have completed a couple of research projects funded by National Social Science Fund,Ministry of Education project and Zhejiang Province. His book Ningbo Ancient Cross-cultural Exchange--A research Based on the Related Cultural Relics have won the provincial and municipal prizes.
