Nie Renfa, professor, PhD in Literature from Hunan Normal University, postdoctoral researcher in Chinese Language and Literature from Shanghai Normal University. He mainly engages in research on Chinese grammar and discourse, and has published "Studies on Discourse in Modern Chinese" and "Research on the Subject and Topic in Chinese Language". He has also served as editor-in-chief of "An Introduction to Chinese Language" and "Basic Course on Discourse in Chinese Language", and a member of the editorial board of "Descriptive Grammar of Modern Chinese". He has taught courses such as Modern Chinese, Introduction to Linguistics, Grammar of Chinese Language, Discourse Linguistics, and Logic and Critical Thinking, etc.
